Discussing the raspberries takes a long time
Discussing the raspberries takes a long time

We are Liz and Margie Tomlin, English sisters living in France. Two years ago we moved to the lovely village of Grézels in the Lot valley where we have been busy renovating, we came here for a better quality and pace of life, the opportunity to be hospitable, the sense of community and the lovely weather.

Our objective is to create a memorable destination of exceptional hospitality with a Tea Room (Salon de Thé) and Bed & Breakfast (Chambre d’Hôtes). Grézels is a charming village near both Puy-L’Évêque and Prayssac amidst the vineyards of the Cahors AOC wine region. Until recently the village had a local and very well supported restaurant, Le Terasse; this restaurant was a popular destination for the food-lovers in the area which means that Grézels is already known as a food destination. Now that this has closed we want to bring life back to the village and develop it as a destination for discerning guests and food-lovers. Tormantil will open summer, 2019.

Margie has extensive experience in the UK hospitality industry – she has managed hotels, owned pubs and various cafés and acted as advisor to small hospitality ventures. Liz’s professional activity was as a Business Analyst and Manager, and she was the owner of an international dance club in London. Both of us have had a life-long interest in food, its provenance, preparation, and presentation. we love entertaining and cooking.

Despite having retired from our UK work neither of us have any intention of ‘retiring’ as we enjoy the challenge and activity of running a business; and, as we are both fit and well, we can look forward to many years of activity. Currently our time is spent managing the house renovation, refurbishing furniture and making the soft furnishings in preparation for the business opening.
