Our House

Tormantil will be a memorable destination of exceptional hospitality, we plan to have a Tea Room (Salon de Thé) and Bed & Breakfast (Chambre d’Hôtes) in the small, charming village of Grézels, near both Puy-L’Évêque and Prayssac amidst the vineyards of the Cahors AOC wine region.
The house is a traditional Maison de Maître built in 1879. This imposing three-storey house has been renovated to provide 4 bedrooms with en‑suite bathrooms on the top floor, a large salon and kitchen to be used by the Salon de Thé on the middle floor; and, our private accommodation is on the garden-level floor.
Until recently the village had a local and very well supported restaurant, Le Terasse; this restaurant was a popular destination for the food-lovers in the area which means that Grézels is already known as a food destination. Now that this has closed we want to bring life back to the village and develop it as a destination for discerning guests and food-lovers. We are also discussing collaborations with various local artists and artisans who wish to run events, courses and exhibitions.
Those of you wondering where the name comes from, it is an alternative spelling of ‘tormentil’ which is a small yellow cinquefoil potentilla erecta. Unusually, instead of the expected five petals, this cinquefoil has four petals.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
