It was Sunday 15th January when we arrived to a lovely sparkly day. Although we could work in the house clearing all the debris left from previous occupants and cleaning the hot water was not working so we stayed the first week in the Gites opposite that belonged to a lovely couple from the village – who proved very good to know as they also sold us some hay for the horses.
We cleaned and sorted but always stopped for lunch and tea on the terrace in the gorgeous winter sun – it was really warm for the first few days. Caudi, an Argentinean Criollo, and Sunny, a Welsh mountain pony, were delivered on Tuesday and we let them out into the field that we had fenced using the equipment that travelled down with us in the car.
The following two days saw the thermometer plummet to minus eight overnight and our contents arrived on a cold frosty but brilliant morning. Over then next two days the house and ‘le cave’ filled up with boxes and and furniture. Many of the boxes will remain packed as out plans mean we will ‘camp/ in the house initially. But we had to start opening them to resort and categorise, this will take weeks..[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”How it all started” style=”custom” custom_background=”#deead0″ custom_text=”#666666″ link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tormantil.com%2F2017%2F01%2F10%2Fhow-it-all-started%2F|title:read%20how%20it%20all%20began…|”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
